Archery & Muzzle Loading
We bugle hunt the elk and have had excellent success over the years. All guides are experienced buglers. We offer 2 on 1 and 1 on 1 hunts for both archers and muzzle loaders.

We hunt areas 61 and 62 for both archery and muzzle loading.
1999 Elk

Trophy Unit 61 is a limited elk hunting area and requires license application for both archery and muzzle loading by April 5.
8 preference points are required to draw a tag for the first rifle season, and 7 preference points are required 2nd, 3rd and 4th rifle seasons

8 preference points are needed to draw a tag for archery, and 11 preference points to draw a tag for muzzle loading. 1998 Elk
Statewide muzzle loading also requires license application. Statewide muzzle loading is taking 2 preference points to draw a tag.
1999 Elk

Archery season runs from the end of August to the end of September.

We start a hunt every Saturday.

Muzzle loading starts
in the middle of September.

Rifle

Our rifle elk hunts are from our modern lodge in the Uncompahgre National Forest.

This is a Trophy Elk Hunting Area and requires license application by April 6. 2002 Elk

Limited pressure gives us a large concentration of five and six point bulls and provides an excellent opportunity to harvest a trophy.
1998 Elk
Hunts are by foot, and 4-wheel drive, in oak brush/aspen country.

We provide one guide for two hunters.
We also offer a special one hunter per guide trophy hunt;
this hunt is for the serious trophy hunter.
